Services We Provide:
HOME provides several services: transitional, temporary and permanent housing; case management; financial and employment counseling and coordination with existing programs; reaching out to identify and bring in veterans in need, many of whom remain unaware of the services available to assist them; caregiver support; assistance with medications; and transportation.
Know Your Rights:
The target consumers for HOME are those female veterans who seek to turn their lives around and return to productivity. It does not matter whether a female veteran has a criminal or substance abuse record, or suffers from a temporary or chronic impediment to productivity. We exist to help precisely this group of people. In the San Diego County area, those not being adequately served by existing programs likely number in the hundreds of males and tens of females. Those veterans who have gotten swept up into the judicial system are becoming an increasing focus of attention. The San Diego Veterans Court offers a diversionary program from the regular judicial systems and is designed to promptly provide assistance to these veterans, rather than abandoning them to the regular courts, especially when alcohol abuse is a major contributor to their criminal behavior.
